Why Time Feels Faster as You Grow Up

When you are young, time often feels slow because everything is new and exciting. Your brain is constantly processing unfamiliar experiences, which makes days and years seem longer. As you grow older, routines become more common and fewer moments stand out. Because the brain records fewer “new” memories, time can feel like it is passing more quickly.

Another reason time feels faster is how we measure it in our minds. For a child, one year is a large part of their life, but for an adult, one year is only a small fraction of everything they have experienced. This change in perspective makes time seem shorter as we age. Although time itself never changes, the way we experience it does. Shutdown123
